The treatment of children and adolescents during the clinical practice differs due to the need for parent/caregiver involvement which is critical to the process. The parent/caregiver will be present at the time of intake to sign off on the intake forms. Confidentiality will be explained as well as the limits of confidentiality to be both the minor and the parent/caregiver. Treatment is designed to be strength based and solution focused and is found to be most effective when collaborative. Play therapy and creative therapeutic interventions are often utilized such as art, music, poetry and narrative therapy that help to meet developmental appropriateness.

Supervision towards licensure is a process whereby weekly/biweekly time is coordinated in person or via Telehealth as a means to ensure compliance with ethical practices in relation to the licensing board under the Department of Health for mental health practices. Case conceptualization, guidance, clinical feedback and recomendations are provided. Assistance with studying for the licensing exam can be offered during this time. To begin, a consultation is scheduled to ensure that there is the best fit and a supervision contract is reviewed and completed prior to start.
